Job application photo dimensions — pixels and file size

Prepare a portrait copy for a CV or application portal. Follow the recipient’s specification rather than assuming one standard size.

Requirements and examples

600 × 800 and 900 × 1200 pixels are our portrait examples, not official or universal application requirements. A portal may specify its own aspect ratio, file format and byte limit. A photo placed in a CV also depends on the document layout.

Portrait working example 3:4600 × 800 px
Larger portrait example 3:4900 × 1200 px

Check the final context

Keep the face and shoulders framed appropriately; centered crop is only a starting point. Use manual cropping if needed. After inserting the photo into a CV, inspect the resulting PDF at normal reading size and check the complete PDF’s file size.

The optional size check does not automatically reach a limit. Adjust the JPG quality or dimensions and check the actual bytes. Keep the original, and avoid resizing an already small photo repeatedly. This tool changes formatting; it does not retouch a portrait or validate a portal submission.

Prepare your image locally

Choose a preset or your own dimensions. The output is JPG; white fills transparent areas and any margins. No file is uploaded.

The image is never stretched. Without enlargement, a small source may leave margins even with centered crop. For manual positioning, use the crop tool first.

This checks the finished file; it does not automatically compress to the limit. 1 KB = 1000 bytes.
