Resize photos for Kleinanzeigen — pixel and file-size checks

Prepare listing photos for Kleinanzeigen, formerly eBay Kleinanzeigen. Use JPG and check the actual output size.

Requirements and examples

Kleinanzeigen’s help lists JPG, GIF, HEIC and PNG and a maximum of 12 MB per image. It does not give a fixed required pixel size in this help article. The 1600 × 1200 and 2000 × 1500 presets are our working examples, not platform requirements.

Start with fit to keep the whole image. Use crop only if nothing important is lost. The output here is JPG; the tool itself accepts JPG, PNG and WebP. For HEIC, use the converter linked below first.

The initial 12000 KB check uses 12,000,000 bytes. It checks the finished JPG rather than automatically meeting the limit. If necessary lower quality, choose fewer pixels or open the compression tool. Also inspect the listing’s upload preview.

Prepare your image locally

Choose a preset or your own dimensions. The output is JPG; white fills transparent areas and any margins. No file is uploaded.

The image is never stretched. Without enlargement, a small source may leave margins even with centered crop. For manual positioning, use the crop tool first.

This checks the finished file; it does not automatically compress to the limit. 1 KB = 1000 bytes.
