Video to MP3
Extract the sound from a video and save it as MP3 (192 kbit/s). Free, fast and without upload: works with MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM up to 2 GB.
MP3 or original sound?
MP3 plays in practically every car radio, older player and editing program, which makes it the safest choice for sharing music, lectures or voice recordings from a video. The conversion decodes the original sound, typically AAC, and encodes it again as MP3 at 192 kbit/s stereo. Long videos are processed piece by piece, so even an hour-long recording works on a laptop. If you only need the sound without any re-encoding, the audio extractor saves the original track as M4A instead.
Workflow and result checks
- Choose a video with sound (MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM).
- Start: the sound track is decoded and encoded as MP3 at 192 kbit/s.
- Listen to the preview and download the MP3.
Questions about this tool
Is the quality as good as the original?
MP3 is lossy, but 192 kbit/s is hard to tell apart from typical phone or video sound. If you need the untouched track, use “Extract audio from video”, which saves the original AAC as M4A.
Is the video uploaded?
No. Only the sound is processed in your browser; the file stays on your device.
