GUIDES AND TOOLS

Remove PDF password — locally with a known password

Enter the password that opens your PDF and download an unencrypted copy. Your document and password stay on your device.

Remove a known PDF password

Enter the password that opens the file. The download has no PDF password; anyone who receives it can open and copy its contents. Existing digital signatures can become invalid when rewriting the PDF.

You need the current password

Choose an encrypted PDF and enter its current opening password. The tool decrypts the document into a new PDF without password protection. It does not recover forgotten passwords or bypass encryption.

The downloaded copy can be opened by anyone who receives it. Existing document metadata, visible content, attachments and other embedded data can remain. Existing certificate-based digital signatures may become invalid when rewriting. Keep the original protected file.

Check the unprotected copy

Open the downloaded PDF in a PDF viewer and confirm that it opens without a password. Compare all pages before sharing. Maximum input size: 30 MB. Processing happens locally, without transmitting your password.
