Remove audio from video
Remove every audio track from an MP4 or MOV video without changing the image quality. Preview the muted video and download a silent copy locally.
Your file stays on this device. The original remains unchanged.
How to use this tool
- Choose an MP4 or MOV recording. All video tracks are retained; every audio track is left out of the export.
- The source preview is muted. Save the edited copy, then open the output preview to verify that it contains no sound.
- Download the new file. No image scaling, bitrate change or re-encoding is applied. Extra subtitle, chapter and metadata tracks are not retained.
Questions and answers
Is the audio just muted?
The download does not contain any audio track. Muting the source preview only demonstrates the result; the export actually omits the compressed audio samples.
Will the file get smaller?
Usually by roughly the size of its audio, although new container headers affect the exact byte count. A silent or very low-bitrate source may shrink only a little.
Can I remove audio from WebM?
This tool supports non-fragmented MP4 and MOV up to 2 GB. WebM uses another container and is not supported here yet. It works without playing or re-encoding the complete video.
