Resize images for Etsy — listing photos and shop logo

Keep sufficient pixels for product detail. Prepare a JPG copy and inspect Etsy’s thumbnail preview.

Requirements and examples

Etsy recommends listing photos with both width and height at least 2000 pixels and recommends 500 × 500 for shop logos. A landscape or square first listing photo is suggested. These are recommendations for different uses, not one required shape for all images.

Shop logo recommendation500 × 500 px

Do not shrink every product photo to a logo size

3000 × 2000 is our landscape example meeting the listing recommendation; 2000 × 2000 is a square example. The 500 × 500 preset is for a shop logo, not a product listing. Keep the product centered with enough surrounding space for different thumbnails.

Check the source detail: padding or enlarging a small photo cannot create new product detail. This tool produces a white-background JPG and does not provide color-profile validation. Adjust and preview the thumbnail in Etsy after uploading.

Prepare your image locally

Choose a preset or your own dimensions. The output is JPG; white fills transparent areas and any margins. No file is uploaded.

The image is never stretched. Without enlargement, a small source may leave margins even with centered crop. For manual positioning, use the crop tool first.

This checks the finished file; it does not automatically compress to the limit. 1 KB = 1000 bytes.
