Rotate video
Rotate an MP4 or MOV video by 90°, 180° or 270° without re-encoding. The new copy stores orientation in its video header and keeps the original compressed frames.
Your file stays on this device. The original remains unchanged.
How to use this tool
- Choose a non-fragmented MP4 or MOV recording up to 2 GB. Existing orientation and supported audio tracks are retained.
- Choose 90° right, 180°, or 90° left. The source preview shows the additional rotation relative to the video’s current display orientation.
- Save and test the downloaded copy in the player or platform you plan to use. It applies a rotation matrix rather than physically rotating pixels.
Questions and answers
Does rotation reduce quality?
No video frames are re-encoded. Resolution, codec and compressed frame bytes are retained. Container headers and timing tables are rewritten when saving the copy.
Why does an app still show it sideways?
Some apps ignore the rotation matrix or reset orientation during import. This lossless tool cannot guarantee how those apps display the file. Test a short sample before sharing a large recording.
Can I straighten an arbitrary angle?
The offered turns are multiples of 90 degrees. Straightening, cropping or permanently baking a rotation into pixels requires re-encoding and is outside this tool. Extra subtitle, chapter and metadata tracks are omitted.
